IRB Reviews AP Research Projects

The Institutional Review Board (IRB) met this week to review and approve students' research proposals. The IRB reviewed and approved proposals from AP Research, which follows AP Seminar to form the AP Capstone program.

The IRB will reconvene at the beginning of December to review student research proposals from AAR.

 

Based on criterial prepared by the Social and Behavioral Sciences Working Group on Human Research Protections, the IRB evaluates each proposal for safe, ethical, and acceptable practices.

 

The IRB consists of Chief Academic Officer of Secondary Education Sharon Ofek, Director of Research and Assessment Chris Kolar, Director of Agile Teams Dr. Jeong Choe, Paly AP Jerry Berkson, Gunn AP Pier Angeli La Place, AAR Paly liaison and teacher Deanna Chute, AAR Gunn liaison and teacher Angela Merchant, teacher Erin Angell, and Dr. Rosanna Guadagno of the Stanford Peace Innovation Lab.
