Groups spark social movements for equality and equity, in a system historically designed to exclude them, leading to several obstacles to social progress. Art has an opportunity to reach beyond these obstacles. Using a historic and narrative based inquiry approach, this project will examine social movements to determine whether their artistic or non-traditional methods of protest yielded effective results.
